Girls Travel Teams 2008-2009
6th Grade
There are fifteen girls listed on the team. That is a large number of players. Please, consider the time commitment to this team. We play in the South Shore League, which is a highly competitive league. We play sixteen games on Saturdays and Sundays from December 6th through March 15th which includes playoffs. There will be two practices per week, what nights TBD after boy’s tryouts. There will be two games per weekend on most weekends and one on the others. We play on Sat and Sun of the February vacation. We need to know that your daughters have the time and commitment to play the whole season. Fundamentals are the key to playing basketball. Showing up for games does not teach fundamentals. Practice makes players better. The games are fun and exciting, but only if you can match the skills of the team you are playing against otherwise it becomes intimidating and not fun. We realize the girls do other activities besides play basketball. However, we need the cooperation and commitment of the parents from the beginning of the season.
Because of the large number of players, Coach Farren will be in touch with the parents regarding a mandatory parents meeting
